Just a quickie picture of the promised half matte colors. I haven’t had time all week to post these onto the website listing. I will probably extend the sale price for a bit longer than just until tomorrow since these came in so late.

Just email be at beads @ serenasbeadery.com (minus spaces) to send in your order.

Black Half Matte Beach 3

The style is the same but the treatment is new. I have always wanted to try this but just never did. The other day I had a customer request that I etch half of a bead that was in an orphan set. It worked perfectly and I love the look. I have several more colors in the kiln all ready to be be half etched. I have put these up on my website here, but also want to offer a special introductory BOGO at half price for a short period of time.

The only colors currently on that page to order are black, light teal, ink blue, dark blue, transparent red, and olive green. But you may order any color you see on my color gallery. Your 2nd bead does not have to be the same as the first. Just browse through all the colors in the color gallery and order whichever color you would like. Since I can’t get up my website with a special like this I will take orders my hand. You will just have to Email Me your order and I can paypal you your invoice.

I will keep this special going to about a week but will put a stop to it all should I get to far behind. So don’t delay – get your orders in quickly.

Half Matte Beach Pandora Style – I don’t have all the above listed colors shown yet, but will have them up by the end of the weekend.

I have updated the website a bit and now offer more options for each color. You can now order donuts in two different sizes, mini, whitehearts, lentils, pillows, disks, super-sized 15 mm honkers, and panodras all from one page.

Here is a quickie screenshot. Each color listed under ‘Lampwork Spacers – by color’ is now set up this way. It should make ordering just a bit simpler for you.

I have posted a whole new section in my color gallery. Actually, its two new sections but only one line of color – in transparent and opaque. It is called Reichenbach and they have some amazing colors. I have been using these colors for a while but only recently began using them a lot. I think my favorites are the multicolor and purple rose.

Come take a look – special lusters, crazy mystic colors, and new raku like specimens, and more! Pictures below are links to my color gallery page.

I get asked quite often if I give discounts. And the quick answer if yes, yes I do.

The longer answer is yes, but only in certain places. My prices on places like Etsy and eBay are priced accordingly. There are fees that are figured into my prices on each of those sites. Now if you wander over to my website, I can most definitely offer a discount on quantity purchases there. In fact, a lot of sets and spacers are already set up for a quantity discount that is less than anywhere else.

But I can’t tell you that if you ask me directly in an Etsy convo or eBay message. I know for a fact that conversations can be monitored. I can lose my selling privileges for directing you to buy away from Etsy or eBay. It has already happened to me and I am not willing to lose my privileges again, forever.

So, this is what I can say here, on my own blog. If you are looking for the bottom dollar or possible wholesale prices on lampwork beads, ask me directly through my website or this blog.

Thanks!

It can be quite exhilarating to experience others’ enthusiasm for my creations. I have to admit that at times I have tendencies to slip into auto-pilot mode in order to keep up and get the work done. Being a mom, teacher, and a bead maker all at once can make things hectic. I am sure that no one ever tires of hearing compliments about things they have made or done. I know I don’t. But when someone else shares an abundance of happy, pleasant, and wonderfully exciting things about me and my beads it seems to shake me from my automaticity.

That is exactly what just happened when I got to read Sharyl’s blog post. I just love seeing (and obviously hearing about) what others do with my beads. I thoroughly enjoyed browsing through her Artfire shop and have several items on my wish list now. I just love painted and patina metal and so I am certain we just might be do some further exchanges.

She is having a giveaway of a combination of my beads and her copper and brass components. Share with me in my ‘altered state’ and pop on over there to get in on your chance to win. You will be able to make something that you can create into your own unique piece. Deadline to enter is this Thursday night so don’t delay!

Here are a couple of my faves from her shop!

Handmade copper snowflake bail

What a neat idea. Maybe I’ve been hiding under a rock but I’ve never seen a bail quite like these and just love the idea. I am always in need of unique pieces in which to hang my favorite focals.

Pair of Pansy Patinated Connectors

I think I have some ceramic beads with match these perfectly. Gonna have to track them down to see for sure.

And the beads and components  you can win for yourself.

My beads and Sharyl’s metal components.

Gotta run and get busy at the torch. Have a beautiful day.

I thought I would share with you a custom transformation. This idea was from the mother of a really close friend of mine. We all do share a love of handmade lampwork glass beads even if we are on nearly opposite sides of the globe. The request was to take these beads

Cobalt and Green Spiral

and make them with hole that are large enough to fit onto a pandora sized bracelet or necklace.
I was tickled with the outcome. The new beads look quite dramatic and I hope to someday see them being worn.
What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts.
