I’m here doing a happy dance because I am finally caught up a bit. I usually have a lead time of around 2 weeks, but for the past 2 months, I’ve fallen over 3 weeks behind in shipping bead orders. After working hard and more weekends lately, I am finally back to my normal 2 weeks behind!! Woohoo. Here’s a little selfie of my doing my little happy dance.
I have recently begun selling my lampwork glass beads on different Facebook Groups and I am really enjoying it. I have found some wonderful new people to work with and am feeling inspired to create once again. Things move fast there and it is way more personal that any other place I have sold online. If you haven’t checked out any Facebook groups yet, you ought to. Here is a wonderful article, “Facebook Groups are Underrated, Here’s How to Make Them Awesome”, that explains FB groups way better than I could and all of their benefits.
So, here is a list of the current ones I am a member of and have been selling on. (There are limits that vary from group to group as to how many posts you can have going at any one point in time. In order to sell more than just a few sets a day, I use several groups.) If you want to join, you will have to wait to be approved. This might seem intimidating, but keeps out spammers so we all win!!
Lampwork Bead & Jewelry Carousel 24/7 Auctions – this is the only group that I am aware of that allows made to order items
I use the wording ‘bead by Serena’ in all my descriptions. So to easily find what I currently have listed on any of these groups, just search for ‘Serena’ and there I will be. (You can only search from a computer though – the facebook app or facebook group app doesn’t allow for searching.)
I have also created an “In The Lineup” photo album on my facebook page for easy browsing. In that album you can find pictures of each set that might currently be listed for sale, is in line to be put up for sale, or recently sold. I am trying to put a link to the picture if it is available and mark the sold ones as such and move them down to the bottom of the album. Feel free to comment on them is you want something or just like them too!
I just recently added some new colors and styles to the website. Here are a few of them with direct links.
I recently started making sets of spacers pairs in graduated sizes on Etsy. Each lampwork bead set has a pair of 8 mm, 9 mm, and 10 mm beads. You can choose from either a 1.5 mm hole or 2.5 mm hole for the available colors. Then I had a customer ask if I could make them any smaller. I said, ‘sure, why not!’ So this is what we came up with. Who knew they would be so stinking cute. I just couldn’t help but share! These are 6, 7 and 8 mm is size! And, yes, that is a dime.
I have several new Creation is Messy colors to show. None are available to order yet, but couldn’t wait to show off my findings. I have even added them to the color gallery yet. These are all limited runs.
This is Orange Crush, C0211. It is a strong transparent orange. Not much fuss. Does need to be struck with maybe a bit more patience than other batches of transparent orange I have worked with before, but not by much.
And here we have Jupiter Storm, C0812. It is definitely a striking color. I would equate this one with Powder Pink in workability. This one needs to be cooled quite a bit and then reheated high in the flame to get color. Nice peachy pinks though!!
This is Jellyfish, C0604. In direct sunlight, this is even more beautiful than Dark Lavender. (Which, btw, is currently OOS everywhere! Has been for awhile and doesn’t look like it will be back anytime soon either.) Under fluorescent light this stays the same, no color shifting to blue like other lavenders either. This is a big plus.
The bodacious blue is called Marine, C0525. Love it! Want more! Was expecting it not to etch like Leaky Pen, but look…it etched nicely.
Gypsy, C0613. So dark of a purple it looks black. (Which we all know that effetre black really is a super dark purple. So there….might just have to try this out and see how it stands up to whites and such. I did work this over New Violet and its perfect. Gorgeous solid purple. Will just need to be used sparingly to see the color.
Here we have Flax, C0715. A booger to photograph since the color is so pale. But this will be a nice shade of pale amber or brown to use. Even more pale than Straw Yellow.
I have added a whole slew of new frit bead to the website. You can find them here. New beads always show up at the bottom with this cart so you will have to scroll down to see all the new ones.
I just added 4 new sets of beads for sale on my website. I also dropped the price of the orphan sets to $9.50 each.
Here are links and pictures of the new sets.

I expect to be taking off sometime over the next couple of weeks to visit DH’s sister. (A 12 hour or so drive.) It will be a last minute decision once we do decided to go so I am trying to spread the word so everyone knows. there very well could be come hiccups and slowdowns while this little trip occurs. It is much needed and will hopefully be quick. I will update you with more as I can.
